Mountain Extreme Race:

I don't know why really and don't ask but we decided to participate in what they call an extreme race up in the rocky mountains of Ras Al Khaimah. Someone said oh it so easy and fun. Yeah right! It was an 8 hour race where we had to hike up and down mostly and cycle our way to the 8 stages. They give you a map and there is no path most of the time, competitors need to find their way and make their own path all that while running and cycling on big rocks!

I have to admit that I was impressed with my body and what it was capable of. We did push ourselves and it was very challenging but we did it, we finished the race not on time but we made it to the finish line and it did feel great. The cutoff time was at 3:00 p.m. we arrived 10 minutes later. Not to forget that the race did start at 7:00 a.m. We actually camped there a night before. A lot of people came from all over the world just for this race.

This is the camp site. As you can see, the mountains are quite intimidating. And yes we did climb those ones! ouf!
