What is happening to humanity? - Driver helps elderly woman cross street

Check out this great MSN video - Driver helps elderly woman cross street

Don't want to sound pessimistic, but really?!!
What happened to humanity? Is kindness that rare that we have to hear of it on the news happening somewhere in Russia!!!!
I am very happy that there is someone who is still kind out there but I also would like to believe that we can also find it around the corner of our house, down our street, among us, between our friends and family, especially within our children.
I would like to believe that it is not that rare of a thing!
Don't give up on us yet...

Surprise! Under the Door mat!

Excuse the lack of punctuation and the short sentences. My heart is racing...
So I am getting ready with the packing and the cleaning, decide to hose down the windows outside. Everything is locked and I get ready with my hose, remove the door mat and there it is. A Cryptophis pallideceps!!! Basically, a small snake.
Ran to get the broom, and it disappeared! Now, I can't find it. tried to locate it but in vain. At least it is outside the house, and I made sure everything was locked and we are moving next week. So?! Not sure what else I can do.
I warned Skye not to go in the garden. But checked it on line and it is not a venomous snake.
Until we meet again...da da da duummm!!!!

Skye and Mommy at the Gallery:

Our town was lucky enough to have 14 international artists exhibiting their works. Yipee for us!
Some of those artists include Picasso, Warhol, Matisse, Pollock, Miro and so much more.
Skye loved it. Actually, Skye loved it so much she did not understand why she could not take Picasso's Peche de nuit a Antibes with her home.

"But Mommy I want this one!"

I could not miss it. Actually I think I will go again once we settle from our move.
You never know what or how you will feel until you get face to face with these giant masters. I was a bit tearful facing a Miro for the first time in my life, never mind being surrounded by all of them under one same roof. You can hear your heart thumping. It is actually overwhelming.

My Ongoing Birthday Gift...

This year, when Michael asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I made a giant leap out of my comfort zone and decided to enroll in a painting class! You see it is a bit intimidating rubbing shoulders with the artists.
But it is just what I always wanted: working with colours and painting!
So I booked myself for one whole term of abstract painting with acrylic. What can I say? FANTASTIC!
Best experience ever!
You actually learn more watching other students and exchanging ideas than the class itself.

I cannot tell you that I am a painter by any means, I just like to splash colours everywhere. It turns out that some people actually liked my work!
That is one of the latest paintings I have done. I prefer painting abstract horizons with sailboats.

We are moving...

Hey, we are moving...The countdown has started...

Half the house is in boxes already. My family is lucky I have not packed them yet! I am such in a hurry that most things in the kitchen are in boxes!

 We are so excited.
We are moving to a great sunny place, a house full of windows and light, lots of views and greenery, quiet street and yet the shops are around the corner without them being in your face, walking distance to a massive park and to the beach! It is going to be brilliant.

I wish it can happen sooner than later, I cannot wait!

Skye keeps colouring every box and decorating it.
She gets upset when I tell her I packed some of her stuff already...Understandable.

It is not easy for her but she was over the moon when she saw the house for the first time.
The kids' room for some mysterious reason is the largest room in the house. So she is thrilled about that.

Skye is also happy that there are other kids on the street and that it is a cul-de-sac, which means she can play safely on her bike outside. She already met the neighbour's dog, too.

After one day of the move, the family is coming for a visit. Then ...

Let the Holidays Begin!!!!

Love Each Other...

Why the Laziness...

I have to admit I have been lazy updating my blog, just because there are more things in life than spending every hour at home in front of a computer!
We are still in Australia...So many beaches to see, so many parks to visit, so many picnics to enjoy!
I have to say, it's been freezing, especially that our house we are renting at the moment is too old and too cold. Therefore, there is no insulation and it is open plan so you can never heat it up. Then there is the fact that the sun doesn't shine through the windows cos they all have a roof to prevent that from happening.
Michael and I, actually believe that it is warmer outside than inside.

But anyways, we are moving!
Moving to a better place, warmer and more modern. It is so exciting that we are getting sleepless nights.
Then, Michael's parents are visiting in a few days.
We don't say good night anymore with Skye. Every night ends with: " How many sleeps until Granny and Grandad arrive?"

Did a silly thing today! Locked the bathroom door from the outside by mistake! So we could not get a shower. It is an old lock system where u click it from the inside and there is no way of unlocking it once you're outside that door! Luckily, the neighbour knows what he is doing and fixed the problem!

I found at the post office a small soft stuffed lion with a bean bag inside which u warm in the microwave. It is a heat bag for Skye to warm her in bed during those cold nights. It is brilliant! She loves it! I might get another one for myself! Haha!

I have been meeting very nice people. I even went to the movies which I have not done in years! It is so strange to go out at night by myself without Michael. Hiring a babysitter to go to the movies is not justifiable, just because she is expensive. We would rather go out to the city for the night.

So So So Funny!
